Labor trafficking is a complex crime that includes many different aspects, from harvesting to production to services. In the first session of the North Carolina Demand Reduction Task Force November 2023 Labor Trafficking webinar series, a panel of experts will introduce the dynamics of labor trafficking and how unethical supply chains feed the cycle of labor trafficking and labor exploitation.

Culture in the Crosshairs: Why Beliefs Shape Behavior
With insights from an advocate connected to professional athletics and youth leadership, the conversation will highlight the influence of role models and communities in challenging harmful norms. We’ll discuss how cultural messages, traditions and media can normalize exploitation. Participants will learn why shifting culture is essential to reducing demand.
Speaker for this session is Rickie Houston, Chief Program Officer at A Call To Men and national leader in gender-based violence prevention and cultural change.
Reducing The Threat
Leaders of the Invictus Project will explain how they are using technology to find and arrest online predators. Representatives from Street Grace will tell us how they are using AI to communicate with buyers and gather actionable evidence for law enforcement.
In the second session of the North Carolina Demand Reduction Task Force November 2023 Labor Trafficking webinar series, attendees will learn about the dynamics of labor trafficking through those who have lived experience. This panel discussion features three labor trafficking survivor-leader experts who will explain the dynamics of this specific type of exploitation.
Survivor Insights: Lessons from the Inside
Our Survivor leader shares her lived experiences to shed light on how demand directly impacts victims of trafficking. Now working as an advocate and educator, she offers a powerful perspectives on survivor-informed approaches to prevention. This session emphasizes why listening to survivors is critical in shaping effective strategies.

Insights From Survivors & Direct Service Providers
Lived experience experts alongside of North Carolina direct service providers from A21, Daughters of Worth and Present Age Ministries will share their experiences regarding the use of technology to exploit others.
In the third session of the North Carolina Demand Reduction Task Force November 2023 Labor Trafficking webinar series, attendees will learn how supply chains can be ethical from professionals who are implementing standards to ensure their products and produce are exploitation free.
